Anybody have any idea's on how to get people that use to play to start playing again? Ive recently came across 80 emails of old vets that use to play i have emailed them all and have gotten a hold of a few so far. It has been 2 days and have gotten hold of beany, Leraldo, cedex, driv, arkady, wqb, supA!. But there's got to be more ways to get a hold of them maybe resurrections of old squads might do the trick if you post it on forums that you are bring back the squad. I have notice a lot of people who use to play still log onto forums but don't play in EG.

Mostly because squads have died even tho EG is in better shape then it was in 2009-2010 which was the all time low in the history of EG. If everyone that still plays today have any contacts or know people that use to play and got a hold of them that would help out a lot Or something to pull everyone back together. Squads have been what has kept this zone going and fun. if we could just get 50 more people on top of who logs on these days that would be a big difference and bring competition back to EG even if we could get new players would be good. I dont know tell me what you guys think kind of rambling but there a way out there.

EG is at its worst stage ever, 09-10 was paradise compared to now. Why do you think every vet plays tw now? I never imagined myself playing it.
Zone is dead and buried, move on, i tried getting ppl interested in the zone in spring, but there just isnt anything to be interested at going on anymore.
As much as tw settings suck, at least it has people and it has managed to keep people interested, because zone has been developed properly. EG has been not and results are here. At least for euros, EG is dead, thanx fc btw for starting that wonderful circle which caused it.

Ya but there got to be something we can do lee not to be rude but playing tw doesn't help the situation. All these people who complain and not try doing something or don't try to stay active and dont play just contribute to the problem. So far from the emails i sent out 3 days ago Ive gotten in contact with 12 people im doing my part trying to anyways. The 12 people are cedex, driv, WQb, beany, supa!, innes, anaconda, arkady, jex, leraldo, X-303 and some guy on forums named Don Zardeon and alot of them are going to start playing again and i still got another 30 emails to send out. so if i can bring back 12 people that's doing pretty good on top of people that are playing now.

What we really need is some kind of resurrection of a squad or squads from the passed that people that have been on so vets will come back. A lot of vets still log on to forums and don't play SS so if people would post in squad forums even the current squads to show that there is active squads in the zone like Shocktech, monster, grid, swarvi, Structure, ball that would help out because people would see there is some active in the zone. Squads are what made this zone fun and brought people together that's one of the problems that made zone unactive just need some people to try and bring some squads together. I mean just look at not last years egfl but the previous year there where quiet a lot of squads in egfl not like the old days but it brought a lot of people back the squads where Silence, Grid, Next, Ill, Shocktech, Repent, Warhable, Grieve that was just 2 years ago not that long.

When people seen silence was in the egfl alot of old vets started playing again out of the blue like knitex, luige, rico, otaku, anke, bogmeduser, kinglee, defence, winnie the pooh, sponger, trik, chin, unplug ect.. . Even just last year that base duel league brought back some faces that haven't been on in a log time just because of king making a squad that shows right there. If people like you lee, king and some of the ether's who are still active would just take the time and make a squad im sure it would bring a lot back specially if you post it on forums. We can do it with just a little help i bet you if you and king brought back squads or maid squads a lot more people would come back 100percent guaranteed. And Would stop egers from play tw it just so simple people don't realize it.

It can take more then one person to run a squad doesn't just have to be one person. I Will help anybody and do anything to help this zone at least be fun again just like im trying to bring back people by just trying to get contact with them on my own time. Going to get a hold of f16 for being a weird guy at times and being hyper he has a lot of contact info with vets who use to play for some reason. Going to get together with him and see if we can come up with something. See how inness- contact my post proof right there Ive been getting a hold of people just need some more help from people. Ive Created a squad for new players and players from twers who want to learn how to really play eg and have fun not sit in middle and fray got 7 people so far 5 from tw and 2 new players from my steam friend list. Thanks for commenting lee =) i just believe we are not doing enough really.

Also Lee i dont think people came back that egfl because of silence. A lot of people came back to be apart of silence because of you lee because you are a great leader you always have been even when you where leading trespass. It wasn't like you gave silence to someone to remake. That's why i have message you recently to make a new squad or bring one back from the dead we need good leaders in the zone again. It was never staff that kept this zone alive it was great squad leaders and squads is what made this zone fun it brought people together and made leagues more fun.

The Zone has always been mostly about squads and flagging squads is what kept pub going back in the days when squads use to play pub. Fc did mess some stuff up but i think we can overcome and the reason i use silence as a example was because no other squad besides maybe ILL brought back that many vets who haven't played in a while even if you look at rosters you can notice.

The answer isn't to "bring back vets". Every single game (or really any activity in life) has a continuum of traffic... where new people start the activity, do it for a few years, then grow out of it or move on to something else for whatever reason. That is the natural order of things (e.g smoking, doing drugs, playing team sports, etc...). Trying to start a campaign to "bring back the vets" to fill the zone would be a wasted effort because it disrupts this natural continuum. It's like trying to against the direction of an escalator... it's an uphill/inefficient battle that will just waste energy. If you're trying to salvage the game/zone your energy/effort should be placed in marketing to newbies and making the zone appealing (easy to play) for newbies.... to restore the continuum (I assure you... no pun intended).

Even to this day newbies still enter e.g... they take 1 look around and leave instantly never coming back. You need to ask your self why are they not coming back? Why did they not stay?

The zone has been unappealing to newbies for years.... and as stated for thousands of times already on these forums... THAT IS THE PROBLEM with the zone... who controls the appeal of the zone to newbies? Follow the trail to the old (farts) people's houses who are out of touch with the game and don't even know what a 'fun' game is anymore... there you will find your answer.

Ive notice alot of vets who use to play still log on to forums or check forums but dont play no more. Need to find a way attract them back rebirths of old squads could be one way or something else. Rebirth of old squads that people loved and posting the rebirth on forums might draw back quiet a few players if squads such as blood, exalt, mutiny ect. but who knows

Honestly, people grew up. When I started this game I was a junior in high school. I had tons of time. I was on staff for almost seven years and played a lot, because I could. I now have two kids and a full time career. The old players are not your answer. They just don't have 10-12 hours a day to play anymore. You would need to find new players. The problem is that you are competing with games like LOL for those players, and that is difficult. No one who is 30+ and has a life is going to have the time to play the game in a real way anymore.

This is the truest thing. I also have a full time career with a wife and kid, I found a way to manage playing a lot the past month but I don't think it will last.

the thing is you don't have to play 10- 12 hours a day. The Beauty of SS is that you can hop on and off at anytime. Its not like ether games that make you finish them there is no penalties for leaving. Also i am working on getting new players and i pulled a couple players from ether zones that want to play eg.

Yes and that is the case with eg, there is nothing to do in eg. I want to hop on and play, but there is at maximum 4 random newbies in pub fraying. NOT FUN. Last thing that was fun in bd and where you could actually hop on and play was baseduel, staff decided to kill it, because it "hurt" pub, they never managed to actually kill it, but surely gave it a lethal blow, slowly suffocating it to death and results are here now.

When i got to tw, there is at least a 50% of chance of having some jav or wb duel going on or even base. Those in active squads constantly get games as well.

Your fight for eg is admirable, but you have to realize that the fight is pointless as all the upper staff has given up on the zone, so have majority of the vets. DSB was also fun and active, until it died, just a natural way for things to go in life.

you need to stay with technology, you guys can use my great idea again

Get all the emails from all the past EGDl, the leaders that had a squad and made a forum get all the emails too.

send a mass email before every league but since your noobs din't do that for this egdl. you can now send emails and explain we will having a memory sunday event or some shit like that. That may motivate some old players to come back and say hi to some friends they once meet along the years in this game. than im smart. forum leader should get to that.

The game just is not fun anymore. As lee said, you log in, even if i have to download the map for pub i instantly type ?go baseduel before it's downloaded, see 5 people in spec then log off.
I literally only ever log on to the game or forums if i have nothing and I do mean, literally nothing to do.

The biggest problem isn't the graphics, the game play or anything like that, not in my opinion, it's the competition factor, there just isn't any, not anymore. There's no drama, there's no rewards, there's literally nothing to play for in this game.

I agree with the points placed that people grew up. I played when I was young (heck, about 12) and being 33 now, it's obvious my dedication to playing the game will be way way way smaller. One thing to note, though, is that we can think of ways to support the backend of the servers, and move the engines towards attracting new players, to make the wheel turn around.

And specially those adults with kids... they can push their kids into the game - like I'll do with my own when they become sentient...
